WORKSHOPS: ON DEMAND

The Career Development Center offers many workshops that can be requested by faculty, staff, or student clubs; these workshops are conducted by request and sufficient lead time (2 weeks) is required to make the necessary arrangements. Evening hours and weekends can also often be accommodated.

Conflict Resolution: A conflict emerges when two or more persons or groups have a strong disagreement that is driven by a clash of goals, perceptions and/or values, in an arena where people care about outcomes. Attend this workshop and learn some valuable tips about managing conflict in your life.

Goal Setting: Take the responsibility of determining your own destiny. This workshop will teach you to set goals and how to make a daily habit of reaching them.

Job Search: The job search involves a great deal of preparation and commitment. This workshop will explore a variety of job search strategies designed to assist you in conducting an effective job search.

Networking: Learn how to build a network of friends, teachers and acquaintances while you are still in school to help you transition to your career path. We cover it all, from learning the 30 keys of networking to the do's and don'ts.

Interview Techiques: What to say, what to wear, and how to prepare yourself to ace your next interview.

Resume Writing: Learn how to create a dynamic resume that will introduce you, show off your capabilities, advertise your strengths and help get you the interview.

Computerized Job Search: An overview of available on-line resources and how to use them. Learn about researching companies and career fields, networking, accessing job listings, and posting your resume on the Internet.
