The Career Development
Center is dedicated to providing you with the resources you need to
find information about potential employers. On this page you will
find:
Eligibility
Criteria for On-campus Employment:
Undergraduates: to be eligible to work you must be regularly enrolled in six (6) units (excludes
Continuing Education and Open University).
Graduate Students: must be in a continuous enrollment program.
International
Students: are
eligible to hold on-campus jobs. However, they must obtain the necessary
paperwork from the International Students
Office (UH 235; phone: 909- 537-5193) prior to completing the sign-up
procedures in the Career Development Center.
Working Hours: depending upon department needs and/or available funding,
student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week when school is in
session and 40 hours per week during school breaks or holidays. Student
Assistants are not eligible for overtime.
Important Note:
Federal law requires that all persons show proof of their identity and right to work in the United States before starting
employment. Acceptable forms of identification for completing I-9 forms
include:
OR ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- U.S. Passport
- Unexpired foreign passport with I-551 stamp or attached INS form
I-94 indicating unexpired employment authorization
- Alien Registration Receipt card with photograph (INS form I-551)
- Unexpired temporary card (INS form I - 688)
- Unexpired employment authorization card (INS form I-688A)
- Unexpired employment authorization document issued by the INS which
contains a photograph (I-1688B or I-766)
To avoid delays in being paid, be sure to bring all necessary paperwork
to the Career Development Center when signing up.
Internships
& Special Programs:
The Hispanic
Association of Colleges and Universities offers
internship programs for all students, regardless of race, from
Hispanic-serving
institutions (CSUSB is one).
